TARA, THE RESEARCH SCHOONER IS SAILING AROUND THE GLOBE IN ORDER TO SAMPLE CORAL AND PLANKTON WITH SCIENTISTS AND LABS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD - FROM 2009 TO 2012. The bay of the Goubbet where the scientific research vessel Tara is moored is a huge area but with almost no inhabitant. The djiboutians believe this place is haunted and full of dangerous imaginary creatures. The only humans we crossed in this mineral desert place were some nice Afar tribe's shepherds who offered us some kind of palm wine, sweet. They were beautiful like this mother with her kid and very curious of what we were doing there, in the middle of nowhere... what a place !
TARA, THE RESEARCH SCHOONER IS SAILING AROUND THE GLOBE IN ORDER TO SAMPLE CORAL AND PLANKTON WITH SCIENTISTS AND LABS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD - FROM 2009 TO 2012. Bertrand from TV program Thalassa is showing to Abdu the book of Tara stuck in the Artic ice. For him, it's hard to believe he is on board this boat who was in the ice, he said while laughing the only ice he knows is the one in his Coca Cola ! It was really great to get a local guy like Abdu aboard. So clever, helpfull and interesting ! He told us his stories in the coutry side during civilian wars and fights in the bush... He survives to many hazardous times and knows the price of life...
